This class is designed for homeschooled filmmakers ages 15-25. If you are outside this age range, you can send us an email and request to be considered.

Step 1: Plan

Make sure you can be present in Liberty Lake, WA on these dates for the entire day. Students must attend every day of the intensive.

March 12-16th, 2018

Plan to provide your own meals most days of the class.
Catering will be provided for the two days on set.

If you are coming from out of town, you will need to provide your own lodging. We may have some local families volunteering space in their homes. Please contact us and ask if you need lodging assistance. If you do stay with a local family, please communicate with them and be considerate about bringing your own food.

Step 2: Prepare to Submit a Film

Attendees are asked to bring a film project of theirs for viewing and constructive critique by the team (we are very friendly and nice, we promise). Projects that were filmed with the intensive in mind are the best, as the areas you are struggling with will be fresh in your mind when you come. If you don’t have time, something filmed in the last 6 months will also be accepted. If you’ve never created your own film project before, please give it a shot, or create a team with another filmmaker who is attending. We would still like to see your efforts even if you are just beginning, or didn’t have a chance to finish.

Why make a film?

Your film does not need to be done to get started. You should register right away! 

The deadline for sending in your film is March 1st.

Guidelines:

Length of film: Your film should be under 7 minutes. If your film is longer than 7 minutes, please send us the link to a (separately uploaded) 7 minute section that you think best represents your film.

Content: We will not be able to select your film for displaying and critiquing in the class if it contains things that would be inappropriate for our audience, such as excessive amounts of gore, senseless violence, and horror. Keep in mind, at times our audience may include younger siblings of attendees who come with their parents.

We will not be showing your film and may even disallow your attendance if your video contains any of the following: swearing, innuendo, nudity, or provocative content.

We reserve the right to choose what films will be presented and to decide what would be appropriate for our audience.

Step 3: Register

Ready to register? Tickets are on sale for $995. We have a scholarship program available for students who want to come, but are unable to afford tuition.

Class size is small, with only about 15 seats available. We keep the class size small to maintain quality control and have the ability to answer any and all questions. Make sure to get your seat before the limited space sells out!

We love seeing teams come to classes to learn together, so if you and a friend or teammate would like to come together you both get a discount! One person can purchase the two seats together.

Parents are welcome to attend with their children free of charge. We will have an area in the back of the class for them to sit and they are welcome on set. We ask that you let us know in advance if you are planning on coming and staying in the room during class times so we can adequately plan seating. We do not have childcare for younger siblings, and any additional family of the students must be supervised, quiet, and undisruptive at all times.

Step 4: Read the Rules

The film intensive has a code of conduct as well as a few other rules about how payment is handled and what each student is responsible for. Please read all 3 pages and make sure you are comfortable with the rules before registering. After registering, you will be sent this agreement to sign via email.

Your registration will not be complete without completed payment and this signed form.
